George Bryan enlisted in February 1943. He died of a form of typhus on Wake Island in the Pacific on August 22, 1944. He was a US Army Air Forces crew chief and aerial gunner with the 421st Night Fighter Squadron, and completed several missions over the Pacific Islands before his death. He was survived by his wife Jeanette H. Bryan of Miami Shores, Florida.
